Jenny’s top pottery tools

You don’t need to buy loads of tools, and the studio has lots for you to use, but if you are keen to have a few these are my top tips..

Mudtools sponges, the white one is great for finishing and the orange is highly absorbent. Althoigh they are expensive they do last incredibly well. I have had mine for 8 years and they are still in excellent condition. I also like a small natural sponge too,

Mudtools all purpose trimmer. This is great if your pots are slightly dry, but also for any trimming, It can chatter though so beware and hold it steady.

Dirty girls trimming tools.

Balsa wood, this is great for making ribs and small tools.

Pebble for burnishing, once you find your perferct burnishing pebble never let it go.

A free make up brush from a teen magazines, this is the perfect combination of smooth and stiff bristles and is great for tidying.

Weleda arnica balm, an old potter reccomneded this to me for sore achy hand aftre throwing and its great.

Forged steel tools, this one is like a little tiny kidney, this one is great for scoring.
